HVAC and mechanical submittals, from rooftop units to duct shop drawings
We prepare Division 23 submittals for mechanical contractors: equipment data, ductwork and piping shop drawings, controls, insulation and test and balance. Each one is checked against the equipment schedules and the spec before it goes out.
Division 23 submittals we prepare
Mechanical submittals are mostly equipment and drawings, and reviewers check both against the schedules. We make sure capacities, electrical data, weights, sound ratings and accessories line up with the drawings so the engineer isn't hunting for mismatches.
23 74 13 / 23 74 33
Rooftop & outdoor air units
Capacities, efficiencies, electrical data, weights, curbs, economizers and options, compared tag-by-tag with the equipment schedule, plus wiring diagrams.
23 34 16 / 23 34 23
Fans
Fan curves at the scheduled operating point, sound power data, motor data, dampers, curbs and vibration isolation.
23 31 13 / 23 33 00
Ductwork & duct accessories
Duct shop drawings with sizes, elevations, fittings and reinforcement, plus fire and smoke dampers, volume dampers, access doors and flex duct product data.
23 37 13
Air outlets & inlets
Diffusers, registers and grilles by tag, with sizes, neck sizes, finishes, throw and pressure-drop data.
23 21 13 / 23 21 23
Hydronic piping & pumps
Pipe and fittings, valves, specialties, and pumps with curves marked at the design point.
23 23 00
Refrigerant piping
Line sizing per the equipment manufacturer, specialties, and piping layout drawings where the spec requires them.
23 05 48 / 23 05 29
Vibration isolation & supports
Isolators, bases and hangers with deflections and load ratings, and seismic or delegated-design calculations where called for.
23 07 00
HVAC insulation
Duct and pipe insulation by service and size, jackets and vapor retarders, checked against energy code minimums.
23 05 93 / 23 09 00
TAB & controls
TAB agency qualifications and procedures, and controls product data, points lists and sequences of operation.
Section numbers follow CSI MasterFormat. Your project manual always governs: we build each package from its own Part 1 submittal requirements. Need another section? See the full CSI divisions list.
Every package we deliver includes
- Transmittal cover sheet for every package, numbered by spec section and revision
- Bookmarked, indexed PDF so reviewers can jump straight to each item
- Line-by-line spec check against Part 2 (products) and the Part 1 submittal article
- Marked-up product data: the exact model, size, options and accessories highlighted
- Deviations listed up front, never buried, with the reason for each
- RFI drafts when the drawings and specs conflict, instead of guessing
- Resubmittals that answer every reviewer comment, one by one
Why HVAC submittals get sent back
- Equipment capacities or electrical data that don't match the schedule tag
- Fan or pump curves without the scheduled operating point marked
- Missing accessories the schedule lists (curbs, economizers, disconnects, hail guards)
- Ductwork shop drawings that ignore structure or other trades
- Fire or smoke damper ratings and UL listings not shown
- Sound data missing on projects with acoustic requirements
More on this: common reasons submittals get rejected.

Frequently asked questions
Do you check equipment against the drawing schedules?
Yes. Every unit is compared tag by tag with the equipment schedule: capacity, airflow, electrical characteristics, weight and listed accessories. Differences are flagged on the cover sheet instead of being left for the engineer to find.
Can you produce ductwork shop drawings?
Yes. We draft duct shop drawings from the contract drawings and your field information, showing sizes, elevations, fittings and accessories. Coordination with other trades is included where you give us their layouts.
What if the equipment we bought differs from the basis of design?
We prepare it as a comparable product or substitution, depending on what the spec allows, and document the differences. That gives the engineer what they need to approve it without a round of questions.
How fast can you turn around a package?
You get a flat quote within 48 to 72 hours of sending the documents. Delivery time depends on the size of the package and is agreed in the quote, so you can plan around your submittal schedule.
